About Me
My name is Amanda Berry I qualified as an Independent Family Celebrant with the UK Society of Celebrants in 2024.
For the last nine years I have been living in Paphos, the south west of Cyprus, so if you are an ex-pat or wanting a location wedding, I can advise you on the laws and requirements that you will need to help you through the best and worst times of your lives.
Before I moved to Cyprus I worked in retail, catering and the religious sectors, this affords me the real privilege of working with individuals and families, listening to their stories and creating meaning. Being recently widowed after 24 years together, I know what stress and pressure is all about and I can help you on your journey from the beginning until the end.
I met my Husband David while working for the British Red Cross, where I ran first aid posts for small intimate parties and theatres to large scale concerts and festivals, going from basic first aid to gaining my ambulance qualification.
I am a keen sports woman mastering martial arts, but now I have embraced dragon boating, and with my club, are now regular features in national and international championships.
With my 2 dogs I love taking walks and swims at the beach and splashing through puddles whenever we can. We also have beautiful mountain trails here in Cyprus to walk in summer and ski down in winter!
I love to study; this is one reason I decided to take on this new venture. Having been through university in graduate and postgraduate studies, learning and teaching sign language, running Brownie and Guide Units and now obtaining my dragon boat coaching license I am sure we can work together to create a ceremony to meet anyone’s individual needs.
In any spare time, I love to mosaic, dabbling with stone craving and working with stained glass. I really enjoy the creativeness working with your hands and exploring different techniques to create lasting art.
I love to talk and meet with new people but even more so, I love to listen. Meeting clients for the first time and hearing them tell their story together (it usually starts off shy but then morphs quickly to best friend gossip). It is an honour to translate those beautiful feelings into a ceremony that will have their guests feeling relaxed, entertained and inspired by the love and commitment that they are witnessing.
As an Independent Celebrant, as Family Celebrant Paphos, I have the freedom and flexibility to create and officiate ceremonies, celebrating the beginning of a new life or saying farewell to a loved one. Whether you have it all mapped out or need some serious guidance, I am there to meet you and be a part of your memorable occasion.
